The perfect blend of performance, comfort and style, the Ford Cortina GT was the weapon of choice for many petrolheads in the 1970s.
Some of you may remember this very car from a previous competition, but now it’s back with even better odds.
Bridge Classic Cars Competitions is putting you firmly in the driving seat of this stunning 1970 Ford Cortina 1600GT.
Finished in a beautiful, sophisticated shade of maroon over a black interior, our Cortina GT has the looks as well as the performance. It has benefited from a recent bare metal restoration and spent its entire life within 20 miles of our Suffolk workshop.
The 1600cc engine, which was overhauled in the mid-1980’s, having covered a believed 132,000 from new and is fitted with a 4-speed manual gearbox. The only deviation from its all-original state is the fitting of an electronic ignition system by ourselves. Apart from that small upgrade in practicality, the car is just as it would have been when it rolled off the Dagenham assembly line.
The car also comes with a show board featuring its multiple entries at car shows throughout its life.
The car comes with a wonderful history file. The history dates back to the purchase of the Mk2 GT from Pat Keebles of Leiston on the 28th of February 1970, a local Ford dealer to our Suffolk HQ who supplied the car. The history file also contains original brochures, service book, handbook as well as the Shell Service Record portfolio for this much adored car which until recently had remained in the same family for over 40+ years.
Previously won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, the lucky winner of the car decided, after an issue with their everyday car, to sell the vehicle. We jumped at the opportunity to keep such a beautifully original car in our collection until recently!
With better odds than before, this is your chance to grab hold of a piece of truly original Blue Oval history with our 1970 Ford Cortina GT 1600.
