1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500 with Overdrive
A true British sports car, heavily influenced by the Italian styling.
Although built in Coventry, the Triumph Spitfire was designed by one of the most prolific automotive designers in history, Giovanni Michelotti. The Italian designer’s most notable contributions were for Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati and of course Triumph.
Our beautiful 1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500 with overdrive is finished in Damson red with black hood and black interior. It is a real credit to it’s previous owner and restorer, having had a large sum of money spent restoring and maintaining to a very high standard. This is the ideal classic for someone wanting to own a piece of automotive history. This beauty is both tax and MOT exempt and all of the hard work has been done, it is now ready for the top to come off and to be enjoyed.
The car itself; we’ll start inside. The interior is a wonderful place to be. You are sat just inches off the ground for the ultimate driving experience. Having been fitted with Mazda MX5 seats for comfort on long journey’s you are greeted by the walnut dash and Motolita steering wheel. She looks and sounds incredible and with the desirable 3rd and 4th gear overdrive what better place to be on summer road trip.
Externally; Finished in Damson red and sat on new Minilite wheels with polished lips and excellent tyres. The soft top is lovely with a zip out rear window.
Finally, the previous owner kindly listed the following: full new bell twin stainless exhaust, stainless manifold, full new suspension front and rear (fully adjustable), Weber 45 carburettor, Triumphtune inlet manifold, stainless oil catch tank, stainless heat panels, electronic ignition, electric fuel pump and cut off, new 4 pot brakes, new radiator, alloy rocker cover, new wipers/mirrors, door rubbers.
Congratulations to Andrew Oswald, winner of the 1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500 with ticket number 143.
